Sedimentation

When the agent that transport the materials lose all the energy, materials that has been dragging stop, and deposited in low levels.

• Reservoir: If the particles are solid. 

• Precipitation: If they are loose materials. 
  

The materials are deposited using the following principles:

• Horizontality principle: When the materials are deposited, they stay in a horizontal way, forming layers.  

• Principle of superposition of the layers: When materials are deposited the oldest are listed below, and the new ones are below.
